Industrial energy requirements vary significantly across sectors, but the need for reliable, cost-effective and increasingly renewable electricity is a common priority. In Mexico, Green Energy Venture (GEV) is working with international and local industrial companies to assess and develop solar and battery storage solutions tailored to their operations.
Across three projects, the proposed systems represent a combined 28.3 MWp of additional solar capacity and 102 MWh of battery storage. GEV’s assignments range from technical and economic feasibility assessments to engineering, project structuring and initial development work.
Mining: Integrating renewable energy at a gold mine
For a leading North American gold producer, GEV is carrying out a technical and economic prefeasibility assessment of a 20 MWp solar PV system combined with a 12 MW / 72 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at a Mexican mine. The work includes preliminary design, energy simulations and financial evaluation. GEV is also undertaking initial project development activities to advance the project towards implementation.
Food production: A model for energy autonomy
For a Mexican poultry producer, GEV is assessing a 7 MWp solar PV system and a 2 MW / 24 MWh BESS. The scope covers feasibility analysis and system sizing, followed by basic engineering and project structuring. The objective is to support greater energy autonomy and develop a solution with potential for replication at additional production sites.
Aluminium manufacturing: Building on existing solar infrastructure
For a Japanese industrial group operating in Mexico, GEV is evaluating 1.3 MWp of additional solar PV capacity and a 1 MW / 6 MWh BESS at an aluminium plant. The proposed system would complement an existing solar installation. GEV’s work includes electricity consumption analysis, system optimisation, technical and economic assessment, and a roadmap for further development.
From technical assessment to project development
Together, the projects illustrate how solar generation and storage can be adapted to different industrial operating profiles. GEV combines engineering, financial evaluation and project development to help clients assess commercially viable solutions that may improve energy cost predictability, operational resilience and renewable electricity use.
